Public Open Meeting 06 July 2015: Hertfordshire CC to Replace Abbey Flyer with Guided Bus (BRT)?

There will be a Public Open Meeting at 7:30pm on Monday, 6 July at Bricket Wood Social Club.  The meeting is organised by the Abbey Flyers' User Group, and Cllr Derrick Ashley from HCC will be the main speaker, talking about the proposals.  Everyone is welcome to attend, listen to the speakers and offer their views.

The meeting is to discuss Hertfordshire County Council’s most recent Draft Rail Strategy.  This includes a reference to Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), otherwise known as Guided Busway, as a possible replacement for the Abbey Flyer rail service. 

Te complete Draft Rail Strategy including the consultation is available on the Hertfordshire County Council's website.  The consultation closes at midnight on 4 August 2015. 

The Bricket Wood Residents' Association encourages residents to attend the public meeting and respond to the consultation whatever their views.

The Abbey Flyer Users' Group is a group of Abbey Flyer Users and is independent of the Bricket Wood residents' Association.  Their position is that they oppose this proposal.  Further details about their objections are available on the Abbey Flyers' Group website and on their flyer advertising the public open meeting..
