M25 Roadworks between Junction 19 & 21: Monday 9 May 2011 to Friday 27 May 2011
Post date: May 6, 2011 7:46:41 PM
Dear Resident,
Between Monday 9 May and Bank Holiday weekend 27 May 2011.
This email is to inform you that we have scheduled overnight works to alter the traffic management layout on both carriageways of the M25 between junctions 19 and 21 (M1). This work will be starting from tonight, Friday 6 May, in preparation. During this period, works will be carried out nightly between 10pm to 5am.
As the works progress we will be undertaking the following activities:
Removal of the steel barriers (varioguard). This forms the protection to the central reservation construction area
Following removal, work includes
surfacing
erecting overhead signs on gantries
loop cutting, to install the traffic monitoring equipment in the road surface
removal and repainting of white lines
This type of work is 'linear' and therefore you will only be aware of the work as it passes your property. Some of this work can be noisy, and we apologise for any disturbance it may cause.
It is necessary to complete the work during the night as there is insufficient space to complete this work within Health & Safety guidelines without closing at least one lane of the M25. The Highways Agency only permits lane closures at night when traffic is lighter.
Please note that this work will involve overnight lane and slip road closures. The Highways Agency website carries a schedule at this link http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/projects/23733.aspx which may be helpful in planning your journeys.
This work will extend 4-lane running on both carriageways of the M25 between junctions 19 and 21 for the May Bank Holiday.
Regards
