Dear Resident,

Census 2011: 27 March

As a proactive local resident, and contact for your local residents association, we would like to let you know of the National Census on the 27 March 2011 and ask for your help in letting local people know the Census is coming and how important it is to make a return. The Census information of you and your family is collected by the Office of National Statistics and is used to help plan services in your area by the District Council and other local services partners, such as the Police, School and Health agencies.

The key things to know are that this is the first time Census forms will be posted to households (during March), there will be an online facility to complete the Census (using the unique code from the front of your Census questionnaire) and questionnaires must be returned using the provided pre—paid envelope to the

central processing facility (unless you are unable to do so where a home visit can be organised by ringing the Census helpline — 0300 0201101 after the 5 March 2011).

Help and support on filling in the questionnaire will be available (including the ability to order free copies of large print questionnaires, large print and easy read

booklets, translation booklets in over 50 languages and audio and BSL video guides) through:

Yours sincerely,
