Blackgreen Wood Open Day: Saturday 21 May 2011

When: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Where: Blackgreen Wood, Lye Lane, Bricket Wood. 

Heavy horses will be dragging logs to a working sawmill for treatment throughout the day, and there will be demonstrations of traditional woodland crafts, such as the use of a pole-lathe, the use of a cross-cutting saw, and besom broom making.  There will be guided tours of the Wood at intervals during the day. 

Note: Woodland maintenance in Blackgreen Wood using the heavy horses will also be occurring on Thursday 20 May and Friday 20 May.
