The Highways Agency requires a full weekend closure of the A405 (Northbound carriageway) between M25 J21a and M1 J6a, at Bricket Wood to complete resurfacing works. The closure is necessary for safe access and working for the work crews and to ensure safety of the travelling public while the carriageway is reconstructed and resurfaced.

The road closure will be implemented at 22:00hrs on Friday 24 June and remain in place throughout the weekend. The closure is to be removed on 05:00hrs on Monday 27 June. The works are being undertaken over the weekend to ensure minimum disruption to the travelling public.

During the closure, traffic from the M1 northbound wishing to gain access to the M25 will be diverted via the M1 northbound to M1 Junction 8, turning back via Green Lane roundabout to M1 southbound Junction 21.

Traffic wishing to gain access to the A405 or St Albans via M25 J21a will be diverted north on the M1 to Junction 8 and then on to the A414 (formerly the M10).

Non-motorway traffic will be diverted back on the A405 southbound to the A41 northbound to Hemel Hempstead. They will then be diverted along the A414 to M1 Junction 8 and will rejoin the diverted motorway traffic on to the A414 to their original destination.
