M25 Widening Night Works: 8 to 21 November 2011

Post date: Nov 4, 2011 7:40:19 PM

Dear Resident,

This email is to inform you of various works that will be taking place over night in the next few weeks which may affect you.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday  8, 9 and 10 November – We will be moving a short amount of safety barrier from the central reservation. This work  involves drilling out the barrier supports and will take place between Blanche Lane over bridge and Junction 23.

Friday 11 November – We will be moving vario guard (steel barriers) on the motorway in order to prepare for surfacing works.

Monday 14 November for approx 1 week – We will be re-surfacing part of the anti-clockwise carriageway to the south of Blanche Lane Bridge. All traffic will be directed into the contra flow lane. During this time, junction 22 exit slip road and entry slip road on the anti-clockwise carriageway will be closed. Traffic will be diverted to junction 21a.

Saturday 19 November – We will be erecting 2 gantries near to junction 23. We do not need to enforce a full road closure whist the gantries are being installed but will have the assistance of the Highways Agency at critical points of the works to enforce rolling road blocks. The steel gantry frames will be delivered to site and bolted together on site prior to 19 November. There could be some noise associated with this process.

Sunday and Monday  20 & 21 November – We will be moving the beginning of the contra flow system on the anti-clockwise carriageway further towards Junction 22.

It is necessary to complete the work during the night as there is insufficient space to complete this work within Health & Safety guidelines without closing at least one lane of the M25. Lane closures are only permitted at night when traffic is lighter. Some of this work can be noisy but we will try our best to keep noise to a minimum. Working hours are between 10pm and 5am.

This type of work is weather dependent and therefore should we experience any adverse weather conditions then the works may get postponed. If this is the case then we will advise you of the re-scheduled dates once they have been programmed.

If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact our community relations team on 01727 744936 or communityrelations16-23.m25@sbbjv.co.uk

Thank you for your patience throughout the widening works, and we apologise for any inconvenience it may cause you.

Kind Regards,
