M25 Junctions 21a-Old Parkbury Overbridge Works: 17, 18 & 19 October 2011

Post date: Oct 5, 2011 6:13:14 PM

Dear Resident,

This is to advise you that the Highways Agency has scheduled overnight works to alter the traffic management layout of the M25 between Old Parkbury Overbridge and junction 21a. The work will be carried out over three nights on the 17, 18 and 19 October 2011. The works will be carried out overnight between 10pm and 5am.  On completion, traffic will run in three lanes of both carriageways, enabling the start of work to upgrade the central reservation through this stretch of the motorway.

It is necessary for us to complete this work during the night as the work requires one lane to be closed in order for the works to be completed within Health and Safety Guidelines. Lane closures are only permitted at night when the traffic flow is lighter.

The following activities will be carried out

Once the work in the central reservation is complete in February 2012, it will be possible for us to remove the traffic restrictions and return this stretch of the motorway to the national speed limit.

Please note that this work will involve overnight lane and slip road closures.  The Highways Agency website carries a schedule at this link http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/projects/23733.aspx which may be helpful in planning your journeys.

The Local Authorities are aware of this work and night-time work has been agreed under Section 61 of the Control of Pollution Act 1974.

Please use the following contact details if you have any queries.
